Anna Mills: 7th-8th Grade Science Teacher at Altona Middle School

Anna has Bachelor's degrees in Biological Sciences, Natural Sciences, Education and a minor in Spanish from CSU. She lived in Granada, Spain for 6 months in 2009. Anna has credentials as an Apple Teacher, Blended Educator and Discovery Education Star teacher.
She enjoys living in Downtown Denver, traveling, working out at her HIIT gym and snowboarding. Anna has a passion for exploring and sharing the amazing discoveries in science. She has been teaching for 6 years, she started as a Spanish teacher, then moved to a small town of Eaton, Colorado and taught physical and life science. Now, she educates middle school students in the St. Vrain Valley School District. She coaches volleyball and track throughout the year.
In the Spring of 2015, she joined the small cohort of 7 people in the district and started her journey with blended education. Now, Anna is co-facilitating the Blended Learning Collaborative for the district which has grown to over 40 teachers. She has been delighted to watch the blended collaborative expand. It speaks volume that initiative has been a grassroots approach, which proves that teachers want to blend their classroom because they see the positive effects on student achievement. As an educator, she believes it is essential to practice the blended model because it provides individual education for all students.
